Our Mission
The Fifth Act NYC is a New York City–based nonprofit committed to advancing early-career artists within today’s evolving artistic landscape. Rooted in both theater and film, our dual-company model bridges disciplines and amplifies underrepresented voices while producing bold new work for stage and screen. Through equity-driven collaboration, we empower artists to build sustainable, multidimensional careers and realize projects that once felt out of reach.
Our Values
-
We prioritize the growth of early-career artists by providing meaningful opportunities, leadership pathways, and long-term creative support. Success is measured not only by productions, but by the careers we help sustain.
-
We are committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and ensuring that access, opportunity, and leadership are shared intentionally. Equity is not an initiative—it is embedded in our structure, decision-making, and storytelling.
-
Theater and film inform one another. We embrace artistic fluidity, encouraging creators to move across mediums and explore new forms without limitation.
-
Clear communication and collaborative governance strengthen both art and community. We strive to build systems where artists understand how decisions are made and have a voice in shaping them.
